Hannick is seeking views from local residents on a proposal for circa 200 dwellings on land at Bath Road, Melksham and will host a public exhibition at:

THE SITE
The site is located to the south of Melksham, on the noerthern side of Bath Road (A365), and extends to approximately 11.44 hectares.
A new access is proposed off the Bath Road (see inset plan) alongside pedestrian and cycle links.
It adjoins the existing built-up area of the town. It is within walking and cycling distance of local facilities including schools, shops, employment areas, and bus routes linking to Melksham town centre.
The site is identified as a draft allocation in the emerging Wiltshire Local Plan.
The site is well related to the existing urban fabric and has a relatively flat topography. It is not subject to heritage or ecological designations and is at low risk of flooding.
THE PROPOSAL
The indicative masterplan supports a residential-led development including:
Circa 200 dwellings
A mix of housing types and tenures, including 30% affordable housing
Green infrastructure and public open space to support biodiversity and community wellbeing
Retention and enhancement of existing boundary hedgerows
On-site surface water attenuation measures
Vehicular access from Bath Road, alongside pedestrian and cycle links
Traffic calming and highway safety measures on Bath Road
Contributions towards local infrastructure including education, transport and open space provision
